MW Metals Group is currently looking for a sales representative to join our team and contribute to the company's growth initiatives. This position combines sales, marketing, and customer service responsibilities, focusing on acquiring and servicing industrial and commercial accounts for metal procurement. You will be mentored by a national account representative, learning about the business and customer needs.
The role, which is a blend of inside and outside sales, will require regional and national travel, primarily serving existing accounts within the Ohio Valley, Southern, and Eastern regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the company professionally to customers and vendors, maintaining positive relationships.
- Provide exceptional customer service on behalf of both the company and our clients.
- Conduct regular visits to assigned existing site locations.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and site visits.
- Coordinate third-party programs and logistics, ensuring smooth transitions during vendor changes.
- Collaborate with the National Accounts Logistics Manager to ensure compliance with established procedures by both accounts and third-party vendors.
- Ensure proper shipping practices are followed, including accurate use of shipping documents for all metal movements.
- Regularly follow up with third-party vendors to ensure timely reporting of all movements, in accordance with agreements.
- Attend scheduled meetings at corporate offices with the National Account Manager, Logistics Manager, and General Manager, proactively coordinating meeting schedules.
- Lead and facilitate team meetings at account sites.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge of metals, metal processing, and/or the scrap processing industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with a problem-solving mindset and a proactive, opportunity-seeking attitude. Excellent customer service abilities.
- Previous experience in marketing or customer service is highly desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Experience in customer-facing roles such as customer service, hospitality, or brand promotion will be beneficial to career progression.
- Willingness to travel by car and plane.
- Professional, motivated individual who enjoys engaging with and building relationships with clients in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
- No formal certifications required.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to be both assertive and courteous.
Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of metals and the metal industry is highly preferred but not required.
- No professional certifications are necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel by both car and plane as needed.
- Capability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods within organizational settings.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as required.
